tale of two minds, two hearts and one body
ROSE & THORN
Rose
is kind, and gentle, and decent.
Thorn is rash, and angry, and dangerous.
Rose avoids attention.
Thorn can’t be ignored.
What
happens when these two disparate personalities collide…within the same
person?
ROSE
& THORN is a 6-issue miniseries written by hot scribe Gail
Simone (BIRDS OF PREY), pencilled by remarkable newcomer Adriana Melo
(Star Wars), and inked by versatile Dan Green (Uncanny X-Men)
with gorgeously rendered covers by WONDER WOMAN's Adam Hughes!
When
Rhosyn Forrest witnesses the murder of her beloved policeman father, she

temper. While she’s incarcerated, an unscrupulous psychiatrist tries out
a radical new therapy on her — one which leaves Rhosyn's psyche split

who seeks only to avenge her father's death!
As
the series progresses, Rose and Thorn will find themselves at odds with
the psychiatrist, a mysterious and deadly organized-crime gang known as
The 100, the Metropolis Police Department, and ultimately, each other!

NIGHTWING/HUNTRESS
TRADE PAPERBACK
One
is a former acrobat whose life was changed by the death of his acrobat
parents. The other is a troubled woman who became a crossbow-wielding
vigilante after the violent death of her mob-boss father. Though they
have a grudging respect for each other, the two heroes — Nightwing and
the Huntress — have never had a particularly close relationship...until
now!
When
an undercover cop is killed — apparently by a mob boss — the worlds of
Nightwing and the Huntress collide in NIGHTWING/HUNTRESS,
a 96-page collection of the 4-issue miniseries written by Devin K. Grayson
(NIGHTWING), with stunning art from the unexpected collaboration of artists
Greg Land (Sojourn, NIGHTWING) and Bill Sienkiewicz (SUPERMAN:
DAY OF DOOM).
As
the two heroes approach the policeman's brutal murder from very different
angles — Nightwing looking for justice and the truth, Huntress looking
for vengeance — they find that opposites really do attract. And an unexpected
romantic development may distract them from the case at hand...with fatal
results.
This
project is supported with house ads.
NIGHTWING
AND HUNTRESS is a 96-page trade paperback arriving in comic-book stores
December 31, with a cover price of $9.95 U.S.
THE
DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN!
SOFTCOVER
The
sequel to BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS is collected in THE
DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN! — a 256-page trade paperback written
and illustrated by Frank Miller with colors by Lynn Varley.
This
incredible volume features an introduction by Miller and reprints the
complete 3-part story, plus sketches and other material.
It’s
been three years since the events of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, and everything
is just fine — at least on the surface. What the world at large doesn’t
know is that it’s a total sham. Only he knows better. He’s watched
it fester to near-breaking point, and it’s time for the only free man
left who can effect any real change to bring it all down around their
ears once and for all.
The
Dark Knight returns once again with a vitality unseen since the first
years of his war on crime. Together with his army of Bat-soldiers, including
Carrie Kelly — formerly Robin, and now the new Catgirl — the Dark Knight
wages a new war on a diseased world that’s become completely
lost. THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN! features appearances by such DC icons
as Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, the Atom, the
Question, and more. But are they still the World’s Greatest Heroes?
This
project is supported with house ads.

DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN! is a 256-page trade paperback arriving in comic-book
stores December 17 with a cover price of $19.95 U.S.

OUTSIDERS
#7
Get
ready for the fight you never thought you’d see! It’s Metamorpho vs.…Metamorpho!?
The tussle goes down in OUTSIDERS #7, written by Judd
Winick with art by Tom Raney and Scott Hanna and a cover by Raney. But
which Metamorpho is real? And how will Nightwing and the Outsiders react
to seeing their teammate’s duplicate? DIRECT CURRENTS went to Winick for
some answers!
Tell us a little
about what happens in OUTSIDERS #7.
Of all the issues
of OUTSIDERS, this is the one I can tell you the least about. It's a very
big revelation issue centering around Metamorpho. Many folks have been
asking questions about our boy Meta, like, "Didn't he come back to
life last year?" and " Didn't we see him in BIRDS OF PREY?"
and "Why is he wearing blue jeans all the time?" All these questions
shall be answered…except the one about the blue jeans. We’ll also get
a glimpse of our brand-new super-villain. Well, not new — actually an
old, obscure one from SHAZAM!
What kind of repercussions
will the events of this issue have on the team?
Huge. Mostly for Metamorpho. I can say with complete and absolute confidence
that his life will never ever be the same.
What do you have
planned for the Outsiders?
Big honking trouble! Issues #8,9 and 10 have several battles. One of our
Outsiders gets seriously hurt. Black Lightning shows up to pull his daughter
Thunder off the team, but ends up fighting by their side. And that's just
the next story arc! Overall we'll be building to a rather climactic arc
that brings together the entire run thus far.
If you could be
any Outsider, who would it be?
Grace. I’ve always wanted to be a tall Asian chick.
OUTSIDERS
is an ongoing series edited by Eddie Berganza. The 32-page issue #7 arrives
in comic-book stores December 17 with a cover price of $2.50 U.S.
TEEN
TITANS #6
The
heroes of the JLA have returned to check in on their young wards in TEEN
TITANS #6, written by fan-favorite Geoff Johns (THE FLASH) with
art and a cover by Mike McKone and Marlo Alquiza! But what do Superman,
Batman and Wonder Woman have in mind for the fledgling super-team? DIRECT
CURRENTS turned to Johns to find out!
Tell us a little
about what happens in TEEN TITANS #6.
Wonder Woman isn't too thrilled about Wonder Girl being in the Titans,
Starfire isn't too thrilled about Wonder Woman, and Superman's trying
to keep his promise of making sure the JLA doesn’t interfere with the
Titans' business.
Is there a villain
in this issue?
That depends on your point of view. In Starfire's eyes, there sure is.
What does this
story lead into?
We'll be setting the groundwork for the next storyline, “New Blood,” featuring
the return of Raven and the introduction of the new Brother Blood. Think
Damien from The Omen at 15 years old, mixed with a little Ra’s
Al Ghul and Charles Manson. Also, we've got Deathstroke on a hunt of his
own because one of the Titans has something very special to him. Really
though, this issue will be an intense emotional and physical battle all
its own. Don't expect an easy wrap-up here...
What do you like
about working on TEEN TITANS?
The single best thing about this book is working with Mike McKone. He's
an absolutely amazing artist and his passion for TEEN TITANS is evident
in every panel he draws. It's also an absolute thrill to be working with
DC icons like Robin and the rest of the Titans. I've always loved the
younger heroes and I feel very fortunate to have been brought aboard as
part of this team.
TEEN
TITANS is an ongoing series edited by Eddie Berganza. The 32-page issue
#6 arrives in comic-book stores December 10 with a cover price of $2.50
U.S.
