The
comics event of this fall!
JLA: LIBERTY AND JUSTICE
Superman.
Batman. Wonder Woman. Green Lantern. The Flash. Aquaman. Martian Manhunter.
The
classic JLA is back in a spectacular story by Emmy Award-winning writer
Paul Dini and Eisner Award-winning painter Alex Ross!
In
the fully painted, oversized 96-page original graphic novel JLA:
LIBERTY AND JUSTICE, the League confronts a threat from space
— a very different menace from any the JLA has faced before. This new
danger arrives on Earth in the form of an alien disease — a bacteria of
a cellular composition unlike anything on Earth, deadly to all who come
in contact with it. The space-borne virus spreads quickly, setting off
a chain reaction of fear and panic throughout the world. Soon the JLA
members themselves are under suspicion. Are they ultimately responsible
for this alien danger? Before long, paranoia, distrust and an ensuing
wave of hysteria threaten to rip the world apart at its seams!
In
their previous award-winning volumes, Dini and Ross rendered in-depth
looks at each of the major heroes of the DC Universe. But JLA: LIBERTY
AND JUSTICE is more than the story of one hero — it’s an expansive tale
of DC’s most famous, colorful and iconic characters, utilizing a combination
of word balloons and descriptive narrative. This powerful adventure showcases
the greatest team in the history of comics: the Justice League of America!
This
project is supported with an 8-page preview in Wizard, 8-page
convention preview books, a ceiling hanger, trade and house ads, and a
minisite at www.dccomics.com.
JLA:
LIBERTY AND JUSTICE is a 96-page oversized graphic novel edited by Charles
Kochman and Joey Cavalieri. It arrives in comic-book stores on November
19 with a cover price of $9.95.

The
Man of Steel — exposed as an alien?
SUPERMAN: THE KANSAS SIGHTING
Surely
a man as wise as Jor-El of Krypton would not have sent his only son to
Earth without thoroughly checking out the planet…perhaps sending probes
to scan the surface, or even kidnapping an Earthling or two for study.
SUPERMAN:
THE KANSAS SIGHTING is a 2-issue Prestige Format series by the
team that brought you SUPERGIRL: WINGS — writer J.M. DeMatteis (BATMAN:
ABSOLUTION, Amazing Spider-Man) and artist Jamie Tolagson (DOOM
PATROL, THE DREAMING) — that explores Jor-El’s investigations into Earth,
a subject that Superman must tackle as he fills the role of Earth’s champion.
As
Superman comes to grips with his father’s actions, a team of scientists
sets out to research a UFO landing known as “The Kansas Sighting.” intending
to link that little-known incident to the Man of Steel. Can they demonstrate
that the hero who has defended Earth from alien invaders is actually an
alien himself? Will the world believe that Superman is a world protector,
or an extraterrestrial threat?
This
project is supported with house ads.
SUPERMAN:
THE KANSAS SIGHTING is a 2-issue Prestige Format miniseries edited by
Joey Cavalieri. The 64-page issue #1 arrives in comic-book stores July
16 with a cover price of $6.95 U.S
