The Party From Hell…
AT DEATH’S DOOR
SOFTCOVER
Get
ready for an authentic manga of the Sandman mythos — at a unique manga
digest size — by Jill Thompson, based on Neil Gaiman’s “Season of Mists”
storyline and featuring appearances by every member of the Endless.
AT
DEATH’S DOOR is a 208-page VERTIGO softcover written & illustrated
by Jill Thompson (THE SANDMAN, Scary Godmother) and published
in a manga-style digest size of 5” x 7 1/2” in black-and-white with gray
tones. Told as a traditional girls’ manga tale — or shojou —
AT DEATH’S DOOR is replete with family drama, tragic love stories, strong
interpersonal relationships, dramatic pacing, symbolism, and a cast of
alluring, androgynous characters with a flair for fashion. Also incuded:
a special sketchbook section, an introduction to the character Death,
and summaries of the 10-volume Sandman library.
AT
DEATH’S DOOR reveals what Death and her sisters were up to as Morpheus
decided what to do with the key to Hell. After the Sandman cut off Lucifer's
wings, the Morningstar abdicated his kingdom and left the Key to Hell
in Morpheus's hands…which meant that Hell's nastiest denizens were free
to vacate the premises. Unfortunately for Death, they ended up in her
apartment. Little sisters Delirium and Despair decide to throw a party
for the dead — which quickly gets out of control. It's up to Dream's older
sister Death to figure out how to save the day and the afterlife — not
to mention the carpet.

project is supported by trade and house ads, a (PROMOTIONAL ITEM TBD),

ANIMAL FARM
TRADE PAPERBACK
Since
its inception, FABLES has thrilled fans and critics alike, as writer Bill
Willingham has used classic fairytale characters to create an exciting
new mythology!
FABLES:
ANIMAL FARM, written by Willingham with art by Mark Buckingham
and Steve Leialoha and a new painted cover by James Jean, is a 128-page
VERTIGO trade paperback collecting the second story arc of the wildly
popular series, originally printed in FABLES #6-10.
ANIMAL
FARM takes readers to upstate New York, where all the non-human Fable
refugees have settled The Farm, secured by magic from outside view. Unfortunately,
all is not well at The Farm, as rabble-rousing radicals have staged an
uprising bent on forcing an armed return to the Homelands to liberate
them from the Adversary — and Snow White and Rose Red have stumbled upon
the conspiracy at just the wrong time.
The
sisters had hoped to resolve their differences on The Farm, but instead
they’ll have to keep one step ahead of a pack of zoological "revolutionaries,"
including Goldilocks, just to stay alive! This new trade also includes
a special sketchbook section featuring art by Willingham, Buckingham,
and Jean.
This
project is supported with house ads.

THE SHADOW OF EDGAR ALLAN POE
SOFTCOVER
Edgar
Allan Poe was haunted by dark moods and darker thoughts, resulting in
disturbing stories of high complexity, supernatural terror and exquisite
mental turmoil. But were the demons that drove him real?
That
possibility is explored in the softcover edition of the 96-page VERTIGO
hardcover IN THE SHADOW OF EDGAR ALLAN POE — written
by award-winning novelist Jonathan Scott Fuqua (The Reappearance of
Sam Webber) and featuring the photographic art team behind VEILS
and I, PAPARAZZI: Steve Parke & Stephen John Phillips. Comics
Buyer’s Guide made IN THE SHADOW OF EDGAR ALLAN POE its Pick of the
Week, saying, “it eloquently pays homage to the genius that was Poe.”
When
a lost diary purported to be written by Poe falls into the hands of Sterling
Tuttle, the Poe scholar uncovers a side of the writer that few people
ever suspected. In the diary, the voice of the long-dead author reaches
out from beyond the grave to give a chilling account of his tortured life.
Haunted by the ghosts of his tragic past and the burden of relentless
alcoholism, Poe soon finds that his creativity may depend on actual demons
who have an unsavory agenda of their own…
